Get Involved

We need your help - take action to reduce the number of children and young people who are imprisoned in the UK.

There are lots of different ways to get involved in the Out of Trouble campaign:

  • Take action now - send a message to your elected representative that imprisoning children is wrong
  • Sign up to receive regular updates from the campaign team - just enter your details in the boxes on the right
  • Enlist the help of your friends - every additional voice counts!
  • Join the Out of Trouble page on Facebook or follow us on Twitter
  • Why not ask to meet your MP to discuss your concerns over child imprisonment? We can provide you with a list of questions to ask, and briefing materials if that would help
  • Help raise awareness amongst your community by writing to your local newspaper on behalf of the thousands of children who are in prison today

Or you could:

  • Volunteer in the secure estate, by becoming a mentor or helping with reading and writing skills - get more information here
  • Become a member of an Independent Monitoring Board and help hold the prison service to account to make sure that young offender institution's are delivering on their responsibilities to children and young people who are imprisoned - find out more about what this involves here
